Metal“. Musik, die die Welt urzeitlicher Naturmystik
kompromisslos mit steinhartem jedoch melodischem
symphonischem Metal paart. Trotz ihrer noch relativ jungen
Existenz, schaffte es das finnische Druid Metal Quintett UNSHINE die
Metal-Welt mit ihrem originell gemischtem Rezept aus Metal (ihres
Namens zu Trotz) wie der Schlag eines wuchtigen Eisenhamers zu treffen
und wurden eine der leuchtenstend Sterne in ihrem Heimatland. Im Jahre 2004, zahlte sich die
Kampfkraft der Druidenschönheit Susanna, eine der meist
bewunderten neuen Frauenstimmen mit hohem Wiedererkennungswert, un
ihrer treuen Gefährten aus, als sie sich im Alleingang einen
Plattenvertrag sicherten und im Jahre 2005 ihr erstes Album, EARTH
MAGICK (in Europa und Nord Amerika) veröffentlichten. Obwohl
die ganze Sache selbst aufgenommen und produziert wurde, sorgte es
für enormes Aufsehen in der modernen Metal-Society. Obwohl die Band sehr viel
Aufmerksamkeit bekam, inklusive einer Einladung zu Europas Pop-Contest
Nummer 1 in Spanien zu Beginn ihrer Karriere, hielten sich
Gerüchte hartnäckig, Susanna würde Finnland's
Hauptexport Produkt Nightwish beitreten. Diese wurden jedoch
endgültig ausgelöscht, als eineinhalb Jahre nach Erscheinen
ihres Debutsalbums ihr zweites Werk THE ENIGMA OF IMMORTALS folgte. Während das Komponieren und
Arranghieren des Albums volle zwei Jahre in Anspruch nahm, wurde das
Werk kompromisslos von April bis Oktober 2007 im D-Studio,
Klaukkala/Finnland abgemixt. Leiter dieser Aufnahmen war Svante
Forsbäck von Chartmakers in Helsinki/Finnland. Das Resultat kann als perfekt
klingender und produziertes Album, welches das Wesentliche des Druid
Metals vereint, zusammengefasst werden. Ein prachtvolles Monster,
aus dem volkstümliche Melodien und urbildliche Texte sickern,
welches nach der keltischen Welt und weit dahinter greift. THE ENIGMA OF IMMORTALS ist eine
thematische Reise durch unsere Vergangenheit, von der dunkelsten
Trostlosigkeit und Gier, altertümlicher Herrscher, bis zur Feier
des unschuldigen Lebens der kleinsten Naturbewohner. „Druiden hatten die Gabe und
die Verantwortung, die Mysterien und die Natur ihrem Volk nahe zu
bringen. Sie wanderten zwischen den Welten. Wir fühlen, dass das
auch unser Schicksal ist. Stellt euch uns als moderne, dunkle Barden
vor“, beschreibt Harri, der Hauptkompinist der Band, UNSHINE mit
ein wenig Selbstironie und einem Lächeln.

to melodic symphonic metal.
Finnish druid metal quintette UNSHINE has
now offered their ancient receipt of celtic metal and (despite of their name)
have become one of the shining new stars in their northern home country.
In the very beginning of their career, after the self-release of their
1st demo, the band was invited to European-wide pop-contest in Bilbao, Spain.
Soon (in 2005), the band signed a record deal with Low Frequency Records. The
debut album, Earth Magick, was released both in Europe and in North America.
Even though the whole thing was self-recorded and produced, it gained a lot of
attention among the modern metal society.
After the debut album, band
spent two and half years working on their second album, The Enigma Of Immortals.
While the composing and arranging of the album took two years, the recordings
and mixing were done in D-studio in Klaukkala, between April and October, 2007.
The album was mastered by Svante Forsbäck at Chartmakers in Helsinki.
After the release of of the album, band gained official chart positions
in Finland and the album was released later all around the world. The songs of
the album received airplay even in Bruce Dickinson's BBC Friday Rock Show.
The Enigma Of Immortals is a meditative course through our past, from
the dark and greedy ancient kings to the dwellings of old world clairvoyants and
ultimately to the celebration of the innocent life of the smallest nature
dwellers.
“Druids had the gift and the responsibility of interpreting
the nature and the universal mysteries to their folks. They literally walked
between the worlds. We feel that this is our destiny, too. Imagine us as modern
metal bards”, states the band (not forgetting a smile behind this).
